Blog/Art News

If you follow my blog you will notice I haven’t posted anything in a couple of days when I planned that August would be an everyday blogging month. The reason for this is that I have made an important decision to provide more time for Artwork and for my career in Art. This means that I will be closing down my blog. I have only been blogging for about 6 months and I have loved every moment of it, however managing a Fulltime Job, a Blog, a YouTube channel, my Social Medias and my Art Collections has become increasingly difficult. I am currently working on several Art Collections so I can open an online store, hopefully this will happen in the next two weeks. I generally work with Pencils however over the coming months I will be experimenting with Watercolour and Oil Paints. This is purely a professional decision based on where I am heading in my career as an artist. I love blogging, it’s a beautiful way to share and connect with other people who you may never meet.

I do make YouTube videos as well which I will still be doing, so what I blog about will now be in a video instead of a post. I will be making videos of Makeup Tutorials, Speed Drawings and Artwork, Lookbooks and Hauls, DIY’s and anything else I want to talk and share with my subscribers.

I will definitely consider returning to blogging once I have more time to spend writing my posts and not feel like their rushed. Having a fulltime job and trying to establish yourself in a competitive market is very time consuming and hard work. The future plan is for my Fulltime Job to be my artwork, however at this point I have to balance my time very wisely like most people with a dream and ambition to do something they love.

If you like my artwork or you are a fan of my blog please follow my Instagram and Twitter as I will be posting everything there.

Long Lasting Hair Colour

I am absolutely in love with my hair colour being this Purple Pink. I started out wanting an InTheFrow Lilac Pastel colour, however I decided to try my luck with this colour and I prefer it 100%. In the above photo the colour is at its brightest, and in the below photo it's a few washes in; so you can see it washes out quite quickly.

My solution to this is using only conditioner as the sulphate in shampoo washes out the colour. You can use a non sulphate shampoo but they are hard to come by as the sulphate makes the shampoo froth up and lather. The conditioner will wash your hair just as well but it could start to make your roots greasy. I have not experienced this but it can be a side effect. I was unaware that this is actually a thing, its called CO-WASHING and people do it for all different reasons. Two things are for certain, my hair colour lasts a long time and my hair feels more silky smooth than has before.

I don't use a special conditioner, I just use the Tresemme Colour Revitalise Colour Fade Protection Conditioner.  It retails at £5.24 and can be purchased on the highstreet and in your local Super Stores. I know Asda often do 2 for £5 and as they are 900ml they do tend to last a long time.

If you have coloured hair and are fed up with it fading everytime you wash it then try this, it might work for you.

BLAKE

This Graphite piece is part of my Black and White Collection I am currently working on. I used Faber Castell Graphite Pencils, Derwent Graphic Pencils and Faber Castel Polychromos on A3 Bristol Board. This took about 22 hours in total to finish. There is a lot of detail in this piece so patience becomes your best friend.

DEWY SKIN | CORAL LIP

Highlighter is 100% one of my favourite makeup products, it gives the illusion of flawless looking healthy skin which is what most of us strive for. I have been trying to use the least amount of face powder possible recently as its makes your skin look super matte and it stops you piling product on to your skin. This look is all about the skin and lips as I have been suffering with my eyes recently so I have been trying to stay away from eye makeup. If you love super dewy healthy skin then this post is for you. This is my go to during the summer days which we have been experiencing recently. To support this look I chose a glossy coral lipstick, it is the perfect shade for the summer period and it works so well with this dewy skin look.

I hope you like this look.

£3.50 Contour Palette and Bold Red Lip

I am 100% in love with this Makeup Revolutions Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit in Light/Medium. It comes with a dark contour shade, a golden highlight shade and a blush shade. The contour shade is very dark and pigmented so you have to be careful not to pile it on, it could very easily start to make you look dirty and cakey. It retails for £3.50 which actually blows my mind considering how amazing this palette is. It is super light weight and the perfect size to keep in your bag for any touch ups. I took it out at the weekend in my clutch bag and it didn't weigh my bag down or take up a lot of space.

The isn't a super defined contour look as I don't like a really deep contour with my pale skin. If my skin was darker or I was tanned then I would 100% apply more to deepen the shade.

If you would like to see a deep contour look with this palette then please leave your comments below as this contour kit would work perfectly.

This look is pretty simple but this bold Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in Essential Red is the perfect glam shade, it looks so beautiful with my Purple/Pink hair. I have had this lipstick for some time now but found it in my collection recently.

I didn't necessarily focus too much on the eyes as I wanted to experiment with the contour palette, and this red lip was more than enough to Glam up this look. This bright gold eyeshadow and thin black wing was just the right about of detail.

I hope you like this look.

The £6 Eye Palette You Need | Urban Decay Naked Palette Dupe

I don’t really need to be shopping for makeup to buy makeup, I just come across products and an alarm in my brain starts to go off. It’s the Obsession With Makeup Palettes Alert. When I was shopping last week in Superdrug I picked up this MUA Elysium Palette for £6.00 which is an absolute bargain. The colours are so beautiful and pigmented, perfect for a day to night palette to have in your bag as it is super lightweight. It is definitely a dupe to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette which I own as well but the Elysium Palette is £32.00 Cheaper. I am so happy with this palette, I usually browse on the MUA and Makeup Revolutions Counter as they have amazing products at bargain prices. I tend to try their products to see how the cheaper brands differ from the expensive brands.

The colours are very neutral and vary from a White Cream Matte to a Dark Brown Shimmer with Pink and Copper Shimmer Shades. The palette comes with a Duo Eyeliner Pencil of a Black and Highlight shade.
I would 100% recommend this palette, it has definitely become my go to product at the moment and for the price its an absolute steal. The palette that I purchased was the last palette left so it’s obviously a popular choice.

This palette does not have shade names so I have described the shades. The Cream White Shade is hard to see in the swatches below as I am incredibly pale so the bottom side of my arm is more a less the same colour. If you want to make these colours even more pigmented, just apply Mac Fix+ to your eyeshadow brush before applying it; this works amazing with shimmer and glitter tones.

Etsy Art Store Open

I am partime Artist, Blogger and Youtube. I also work full time in the Financial Sector. I have been working hard on a Black and White Collection so I can open my own online store. Unfortunately my drawings do take a long time to finish, the average being a week as I have to balance it with work and having a normal life. I have always been a creative person and after going back to drawing 9 months ago my skills have rapidly improved.
I have now opened an Etsy Store with a few of my drawings and I am in the process of finishing my first Black and White Collection. When I have completed this collection of 5 drawings I will be opening a Big Cartel Art Store. My intention with my Art Stores is to work in Collections of 5 Drawings and I will be experimenting with Oil and Watercolour Paints.
The drawings below are all listed in my Etsy Store and these prints are available in A4 and A3. You can visit my store by clicking on the link below.
